A Boulder Letter Carrier will be available to talk to media about their experience with dogs while on their delivery route and give consumer information on how to keep dogs from attacking delivery drivers, service personnel and others. There will also be a demonstration of how we train Letter Carriers how to protect themselves from aggressive dogs.

COLORADO — More than 5,300 Postal Service employees were attacked by dogs while delivering the mail last year. Aggressive dog behavior is a common safety concern USPS employees face. To keep its workers safe, the organization is providing important information on how dog owners can be good stewards for safe mail delivery as part of its annual National Dog Bite Awareness Week public service campaign.

WASHINGTON — The United States Postal Service reported new delivery performance metrics for the eighth week of the third quarter for fiscal year 2023 showing improved delivery performance across all mail categories. The average time for the Postal Service to deliver a mailpiece or package across the nation improved to 2.4 days.
